University of Galway School of Law has published the '2026 LLM Criminology, Criminal Justice and Human Rights Year in Review', showcasing a dynamic year of learning, engagement, and impact.
Launched in September 2024, the programme has quickly established itself as a distinctive postgraduate pathway, blending academic excellence with hands-on experiences.

From the outset, the programme aims to give students a rounded and meaningful experience. Alongside teaching, a strong emphasis is placed on engagement with practice, research activity, and a range of extracurricular opportunities that allow students to explore the issues they study in a more applied and reflective way.

From guest lectures and field visits, to reading groups and public events, students are encouraged to engage critically with the criminal justice system in all its complexity, while also developing their own interests and perspectives.
