Xinpeng Liu undertook an academic visit to Paris-Panthéon-Assas University, hosted by Professor Jérôme Passa. During his visit, Xinpeng participated in a range of academic events and engaged with leading scholars in copyright law and artificial intelligence. These included The Legal Aesthetics of Copyright: How AI Unmakes Images, organised by Dr Séverine Dusollier and Dr Nicolas Malevé. He also had the opportunity to discuss the French droit d’auteur tradition with Dr Dusollier, gaining valuable insights into the theoretical foundations of copyright law. Xinpeng also attended the international conference Copyright, AI & Cultural Heritage Institutions, organised by the European Copyright Society, which provided opportunities to engage with contemporary debates on copyright and artificial intelligence. In addition, During the visit, his article, Copyright in the AI Era: Assessing the Copyrightability and Authorship of AI-Generated Work, was published in the peer-reviewed journal Plassey Law Review.
