Dr Pilar Alderete Diez receives President's Award

We proudly announce that Dr. Pilar Alderete Diez has received a President’s Teaching Excellence Award 2025 for her student-centred, critically engaged approach to language teaching on the 28th October. She was recognised for embedding reflective practice, UDL, Academic Integrity, and innovative, technology-enhanced and AI-aware methods. Pilar leads programme development, supports peer learning, mentors staff and students, and designs research-led modules in translation and children’s literature. Her work strengthens national and international collaboration, advances Spanish language education (including CÉIM and ELE in Éirinn), and drives impactful outreach and conference initiatives. Her practice consistently fosters community, inclusion, transferable skills, and transformative learning.
Congratulations, Pilar, from all at the School of Languages, Literatures and Cultures, University of Galway College of Arts, Social Sciences and Celtic Studies who appreciate your work so much!
