Step-by-Step Guide for Making the Most of the Law Careers Fair

Maximise Your Engagement - As part of your employer package with the University of Galway's Career Development Centre Fair (CDC), follow this simple guide to maximise your engagement before, during, and after the event.

Important Reminder: Finalise and submit all job ads and promotional materials by 3rd October 2025 for maximum visibility. Students will start looking into who is attending on CONNECT! Be seen!

Step 1: Preparation Before the Event

1. Advertise Your Roles on Careers Connect, for FREE

  • On CONNECT, upload your graduate programmes, internships, and other vacancies by 3rd October 2025.
  • Include job descriptions, application details, and clear deadlines.
  • Mention you will be available on-site for information on the day of the fair as part of the "Law Careers Fair 2025" for increased visibility to students.
2. Enhance the Student Experience with Brand Activations
We offer space for interactive brand activations within the Bailey Allen Hall. If you're interested in organising activities such as giveaways, please contact Brid Connolly at 087 6316451.
3. Prepare Your Team
Ensure your team is well-briefed on key talking points, including details about your company, available roles, and why graduates should consider applying.

Step 2: On the Day of the Event

1. Arrive Early to Set Up Your Stand
Arrive from 9am, and at least 30 minutes before the event starts to set up your stand in the Bailey Allen Hall.
2. Showcase Your Organisation
Make use of branded materials (banners, brochures, business cards). Include QR codes that link directly to your Careers Connect listings or application pages.

3. Engage with Students
Talk to students about the roles on offer, your company’s culture, and the key skills you are seeking. Offer advice on CVs and applications to make your stand approachable and valuable.

Step 3: After the Event

1. Follow Up with Candidates
Reach out to candidates you met via email or LinkedIn. Encourage the best candidates to formally apply for your roles.
2. Continue Posting Opportunities
Keep using Careers Connect to post roles throughout the year.
3. Use On-Campus Interview Rooms
Book interview pods (via employers@universityofgalway.ie) for private follow-up discussions with top candidates after the fair.

By following these steps, you’ll enhance your graduate talent pipeline and ensure strong visibility among the University of Galway’s top students.

For any questions or support, please contact employers@universityofgalway.ie.
