How to apply for an Access Programme
This is how you apply
1. Check your eligibility
Make sure you meet the eligibility criteria before starting your application.
2. Prepare your documents
You must provide:
- Household income documentation* for the previous calendar year.
- Two non-family referees (e.g. one educational and one community/sport/previous employer)
- Evidence of income, from Revenue if you were employed or from the Department of Social Protection if you were unemployed. School-Leavers need to provide this evidence from their parents income.
*This documentation does not need to be provided by:

Students with experience of the care system if they have a letter from Tusla, and/or
-
Irish Traveller and Roma students

3. Write your personal statement (max. 500 words)
Your statement should outline:
- Your personal and educational experience to date
- The main challenges or barriers you have faced
- Why this opportunity is important to you
- What you hope to study at university
4. Complete the online application form
The application form must be completed online.
Application forms are now open.
5. Interview (*if required)
Access Programme applicants, both School-Leaver and Mature, will be invited to attend a short interview with the Access team.
*Foundation Programme part-time applicants will not.
6. Offers
Successful applicants will receive an offer by email and will be required to formally accept that offer.
