Applications & Requirements

Applications will be open from Tuesday the 1st of September until the 10th of September. Applications are made via our online application portal. An application form will be available at that time here

Please Note - If your child is not allocated a place in the Autumn programme, applications for the Spring programme will open in the first instance to those who were not allocated a place in Autumn.

Application Process

Places are allocated on a random selection basis and not everyone that applies will be offered a place.

Selection Process

Youth Academy typically receives a high volume of applications each year. Places are allocated through a random selection process.

Once applications close:

1. All eligible applicants are randomly chosen by the application system.
2. The system allocates places based on each child's course preferences and available places. It will try to offer their 1st choice, however if this course is full, it will then move on to their 2nd and/or 3rd choice.
3. Once all places have been allocated, applicants will be checked for eligibility and then places will be offered. 

Please only select courses that your child would genuinely be happy to attend. While we will make every effort to offer first-choice courses, we cannot guarantee this, and it is unlikely that we will be able to swap courses after places have been allocated, as courses rarely have places available once offers are issued.

As selection is random, the following do not affect allocation:

• When you apply: Applying early does not increase your chances of getting a place.
• Sibling applications: Siblings are not guaranteed places, even if they apply at the same time.
